Myanmar's e-visa uses an unusual 3.8x4.6cm photo and requires it to have been taken within the last three months — not the usual six.

Morocco visa applications use a 35x45mm photo with a 32-36mm head. White, light grey and light blue backgrounds are all accepted.

Israeli entry visa applications take a 5x5cm square photo on a white background — two copies. Not the 35x45mm rectangle most of the region uses, and you cannot crop one into the other.

Ethiopia's e-visa takes a 35x45mm photo on a white background at 600 DPI. The Ethiopian passport uses a different 3x4cm size.

Cambodia's e-visa takes a 35x45mm photo on a plain light background, under 1MB, submitted through the official evisa.gov.kh portal.

Tanzania's eVisa takes a colour photo of up to 45mm by 35mm on a plain background, as a JPG under 500KB.

Colombia's online visa application takes a 3x4cm photo on a white background, with the head at least 30mm from chin to crown.

Russia's unified e-visa specifies a JPEG in a 35:45 rectangle with your face filling 70-80% of the frame — a ratio and a proportion rather than millimetres, because the file is uploaded rather than printed.

Nepal's visa on arrival is filled in at the airport, so you need a printed 35x45mm photo in your hand — not a file on your phone.

Laos asks for a 4x6cm photo — taller than the 35x45mm most countries use, and stated outright on the official eVisa portal.
