Privacy Policy

The short version

The files you open in our tools — images, PDFs, audio, photos of your face — are processed entirely inside your own browser. They are never uploaded to a ConvertDuck server, because there is no server-side conversion to upload them to. Closing the tab disposes of them.

We collect anonymous usage analytics, and an optional feedback comment if you choose to send one. That is the whole list.

Files you process

Every converter, editor, and generator on this site runs as code in your browser. Your file is read into browser memory, processed there, and written back out as a download. It is not transmitted to us and we never have a copy, so we cannot read, store, share, or recover it.

Some tools download a processing library from a public code CDN (unpkg or jsDelivr) the first time you use them. That request fetches program code to your browser; it does not send your file anywhere. As with any request your browser makes, the CDN can see your IP address and which library you requested.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count page visits and to see which tools people actually finish using. We record events for opening a file, exporting a result, and errors — with the page path and the photo spec involved, never with the file or its contents.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, Google Consent Mode starts with analytics and advertising storage denied. Until you press Accept, measurement runs without cookies and without a persistent identifier. If you press Decline, it stays that way. We determine whether you are in the EEA/UK from the country your network connection resolves to, not from the language you are browsing in.

Cookies and local storage

  • cd_geo_eu — a cookie set by our server for 24 hours. It holds a single flag: whether your request came from an EEA/UK country. Your IP address is not stored.
  • cd_consent_choice — stored in your browser's local storage so we do not ask for your cookie choice again on every page.
  • theme — stored in local storage to remember light or dark mode.
  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) — set only outside the EEA/UK, or inside it after you accept.

Feedback

Tool pages have an optional thumbs-up / thumbs-down control with a comment box. If you submit it, we store your rating, your comment, the page path, and the page language. There is no account, and we do not store your IP address or any identifier alongside it.

The comment box is free text, so please do not type anything personal into it — no application numbers, passport numbers, email addresses, or phone numbers. We have no way to know who a comment came from, which also means we cannot find and delete yours on request unless you can identify it.

What we never do

  • Upload, store, or inspect the files you process.
  • Ask you to create an account.
  • Sell or share personal data. There is no personal data here to sell.
  • Run advertising or ad-targeting scripts.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can withdraw analytics consent by clearing this site's data in your browser, which removes the stored consent choice and makes the banner appear again.

Hosting

This site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the network requests needed to deliver these pages to you.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
