Start From a Proven Structure, Then Make It Yours

Different tasks call for different prompt shapes: a coding request needs different fields than a creative-writing brief or a question that has to stay grounded in a specific document. This tool starts you off with a template built around an established prompt-engineering pattern — a general role-and-task setup, step-by-step reasoning, few-shot examples, grounded Q&A, code, creative writing, or classification — and every field in it is yours to rename, delete, or build on. How to Build a Prompt

1. Pick a Template

Choose the template closest to your task, or start from a single blank field if none of them fit.

Switching templates replaces whatever is currently in the fields, so pick one before you start typing.

2. Fill In, Rename, or Add Fields

Type into any field, rename its label to whatever actually describes your prompt, delete the ones you don't need, or add new ones from scratch — a template is a starting point, not a fixed form.

Q.Do I need to fill in every field?▼
No — any field left blank is simply skipped in the final prompt, whether it came from a template or one you added yourself.
Q.Which format should I choose?▼
XML Tags work well for models trained to pay close attention to tag-delimited sections. Markdown Sections are a readable general-purpose default. Plain Text is best when you don't want any visible structure in the final prompt. Modern models generally follow clear, direct instructions just as well without heavy tagging, so if you're unsure, Plain Text or Markdown is a reasonable first choice.
Q.Can I change a field's name?▼
Yes — click directly on any field's label and type a new one. It updates the heading (or the XML tag name) used in the assembled prompt automatically.
Q.What happens if I switch templates after I've already typed something?▼
Switching templates replaces the current fields with that template's set, so anything already typed is cleared. Pick your template first, or use "Blank" if you want a single field to keep building on without it being replaced later.
