Make US Passport Photo
Generate a compliant 2x2 inch biometric photo strictly adhering to US Department of State passport regulations.
Barbados Passport Photo
Barbados gives a ceiling rather than a size — the photographs should be no more than 5cm by 5cm. Two are needed, they should be taken by a professional photographer, and one of them must be certified by your guarantor along with the form.
Make Belize Passport Photo
2 x 2 inches on white, with your head between 1.25 and 1.41 inches — a taller minimum than the US uses on the same frame. Both ears must show, and Belize spells out the trap: no white shirt on a white background.
Make Jamaica Passport Photo
Jamaica does not name one background colour. It asks you to pick the one that contrasts with you — pastel if you are light-complexioned, white if dark-complexioned, pale blue or pastel if your hair is grey or white.
Indian Passport Photo Maker
Make a Passport Seva-ready photo: exactly 630 x 810 px, under 250 KB, with your head filling about 80% of the frame. The same crop prints as a 4.5 x 3.5 cm photograph.
Make UK Passport Photo
Generate a compliant 35x45mm photo for a UK passport application, matching HM Passport Office rules.
Make Australia Passport Photo
Generate a compliant 35x45mm photo for an Australian passport application, matching Australian Passport Office (DFAT) rules.

Make Brazil Passport Photo
Generate a compliant 50x70mm (5x7cm) photo for a Brazilian passport application, matching Polícia Federal rules.
Make Philippines Passport Photo

Make Nigeria Passport Photo

Mexico Passport Photo Rules

Make Bangladesh e-Passport Photo
Generate a compliant 45x55mm photo for a Bangladesh e-Passport application, matching Department of Immigration and Passports (DIP) rules — a different size from the standard 35x45mm format.
Make Vietnam Passport Photo
Generate a compliant 4x6cm (40x60mm) photo for a Vietnamese passport application, matching Ministry of Foreign Affairs rules — a different size from the standard 35x45mm format.
Make Turkish Passport Photo
Turkish passport photos use the 50x60mm (5x6cm) biometric format on a plain white background. The same size applies at consulates abroad.
Make Thai Passport Photo
Thai passport photos are 35x45mm on a plain background. Offices inside Thailand photograph you on site, so your own file matters most when applying from abroad.
Make Malaysian Passport Photo
Malaysian passport photos are 35x50mm on a white background. Renewals at an Imigresen counter usually capture the photo on site, but online and overseas applications need your own file.
Make Kenyan Passport Photo
Kenyan passport photos are 35x45mm on a plain white background. Applications go through eCitizen, so you will usually need a digital file.
Make South African Passport Photo
South African passport photos are 35x45mm at 600 DPI. Home Affairs offices and bank branches capture your photo live, so your own file matters most when applying from abroad.
Make Taiwan Passport Photo
Taiwan's MOFA asks for a 35x45mm photo on a white background, with a 3.2-3.6cm head, taken bareheaded and front-facing within the last six months.
Make Japanese Passport Photo
Japan's MOFA asks for a 35x45mm borderless photo with a 34mm (±2mm) head, on a plain light background, taken within the last six months.
Make Russian Passport Photo
35x45mm, and the rule is written as a proportion: your face must occupy 70-80% of the photo's area. Black and white is explicitly allowed, which is rare — but a uniform is not.
Make Ghanaian Passport Photo
Ghanaian passport photos are 35x45mm on a plain white background. Applications start online, with biometrics captured later at a Passport Application Centre.
Make Indonesian Passport Photo
Indonesian passport photos use a 4x6cm frame on a RED background — one of the very few countries that require a coloured background. The visa photo is white.
Make Nepali Passport Photo
Nepali passport photos are 35x45mm with the head filling 70-80% of the frame, on a plain light background.
Make Singapore Passport Photo
ICA publishes this one in pixels: 400 x 514 for the e-Service upload, which is exactly 35 x 45mm printed. Photos must be under three months old — not the six months most countries allow.
Make New Zealand Passport Photo
New Zealand states its passport photo in pixels, not millimetres: a 3:4 digital photo at least 900 x 1200px, uploaded with the online application. Prints are not accepted, and neither is a scan of one.
Make Sri Lankan Passport Photo
Sri Lankan passport photos are 35x45mm with a 32-36mm head, on a plain light background, taken within the last six months.
Make Spanish Passport Photo
Spain uses a 26x32mm photo for the passport and DNI — not the 35x45mm size the rest of the EU uses. A standard European photo is the wrong size here.
Make Italian Passport Photo
Italian passport photos follow the EU standard: 35x45mm with a 32-36mm head on a plain light background. The same photo works for the carta d'identità.
Make Dutch Passport Photo
Dutch passport photos are 35x45mm and held to unusually strict standards — no glasses, no shadows, and a genuinely neutral expression.
Make Polish Passport Photo
Polish passport photos are 35x45mm with the head filling 70-80% of the frame, taken frontally on a uniform light background.
Make Irish Passport Photo
Irish passport photos are 35x45mm on a plain light background. Passport Online takes a digital photo, so check the current DFA submission route before you apply.
Make Ukrainian Passport Photo
Ukrainian passport photos are 35x45mm on a plain white background with the head at 70-80%. Offices inside Ukraine photograph you on site; consulates abroad often do not.
Make Argentine Passport Photo
Argentina uses a square 4x4cm photo for the passport and DNI, on a plain white or light grey background. Colour only.
Make Kazakh Passport Photo
Kazakhstan uses a 35x45mm photo with a 31.5-36mm head. Digital submissions are capped at 30KB — the tightest file limit of any spec on this site.
Make Chilean Passport Photo
Chile uses a square 4.5x4.5cm photo on a white background. Argentina next door uses a 4x4cm square — the two are not interchangeable.
Make Moroccan Passport Photo
Moroccan passport photos are 35x45mm with a 32-36mm head. Applications are made at an annexe administrative, or at a consulate if you live abroad.
Make Ethiopian Passport Photo
Ethiopian passport photos are 3x4cm — a different size from the 35x45mm Ethiopia e-visa photo. Do not use one for the other.
Make Greek Passport Photo
Greek passport photos are 40x60mm on a grey background — not the 35x45mm white photo most of the EU uses. Since February 2026 applications filed in Greece register the photo through myPhoto on gov.gr instead of printing it.
Make Portuguese Passport Photo
Portuguese passport photos are 35x45mm on a white or light grey background. Loja do Cidadão counters normally capture the photo on site.
Swedish Passport Photo Rules
Swedish passport photos are 35x45mm on a white background. Polisen normally photographs you at the appointment, so this matters most abroad.
Make Swiss Passport Photo
Swiss passport photos are 35x45mm on a plain light background. Switzerland is not in the EU but follows the same ICAO photo standard.
Make Chinese Passport Photo
China uses 33x48mm — not the 35x45mm almost everyone else uses. The passport also accepts light blue, where the visa photo does not.
Make Egypt Passport Photo
Egypt's passport photo shares the 40x60mm frame with its visa photo, but the head sits lower and the file must be a .jpg under 240KB.
Make Colombia Passport Photo
Colombia uses 4x5cm — a size nothing else on this site shares — and switches the background to blue if your hair is white or sparse.
Make Israel Passport Photo
Consular applications abroad take two 5x5cm square photos on a white background — the same requirement the consulates write as 2 x 2 inches. Inside Israel, PIBA bureaus photograph you on site instead.
Make Cambodia Passport Photo
The Cambodian passport takes 4x6cm — not the 35x45mm its own visa photo uses. Two different sizes for one country.
Make Norway Passport Photo
35x45mm ICAO. Norwegian passports are applied for at a police station, where the photo is normally captured on site rather than brought along.
Make Denmark Passport Photo
35x45mm ICAO on a white background. Danish passports are applied for at your municipality's Borgerservice, which is also where the photo is usually taken.
Make Finland Passport Photo
Finland asks for 36x47mm — exactly 500 x 653 pixels when submitted electronically, where the police guide states a deviation of even one pixel is not accepted. The background is a lightish grey, not white.
Make Austria Passport Photo
35x45mm ICAO — assessed against Austria's published Passbild-Kriterienkatalog, a criteria catalogue that spells out exactly what fails.
Make Belgium Passport Photo
35x45mm ICAO. Belgian passports are applied for at your own commune or gemeente, and the photo standard is checked when you hand it in.
Make Czechia Passport Photo
35x45mm ICAO. Czech passports are normally photographed digitally at the municipal office counter when you apply, so prints are rarely needed.
Make Hong Kong Passport Photo
40x50mm with a 32-36mm head, published directly by the Immigration Department — one of the few photo rules you can read from the source.
Make UAE Passport Photo
35x45mm on a white background — and it must not be identical to the photo already printed in your passport, which rules out the obvious shortcut when you renew.
Make Saudi Passport Photo
4x6cm with the face at 32-36mm. The frame is easy; Absher's file size ceiling is the part that defeats people.
Make Uzbekistan Passport Photo
35x45mm with the head published as exactly 34.5mm — a single figure rather than a range, which is unusual and unforgiving.
Make Romania Passport Photo
35x45mm EU standard — with two Romanian quirks: three prints are asked for, and the background may be off-white or light grey rather than pure white.
Make Jordan Passport Photo
35x45mm on plain white, head 33mm from chin to crown. One warning: Jordanian consulates in the United States commonly ask for the US-style 2x2 inch photo instead — check before you print.
Make Bahrain Passport Photo
40x60mm on pure white, head 38mm with 6mm above your hair. Note that Bahrain's e-passport online form asks for a different frame — 32.5x43mm — which is not a crop of this one.
Make Iraq Passport Photo
35mm wide by 45mm tall on a white background — the consular pages write it 45 × 35, height first — and two copies rather than one. The consular requirement lists them together, so arriving with a single print is the common way to lose a trip.
