The Pose Changed
Poland used to require a three-quarter left profile. It does not any more.
For years Polish ID photos used a distinctive three-quarter left profile with the left ear visible. That requirement was dropped when Poland moved to biometric documents, and the photo is now a straightforward frontal view.
Older guides and even some photo shops still repeat the old rule. If someone tells you to turn your head, they are working from out-of-date instructions.
