Make Moroccan Passport Photo

Moroccan passport applications are made through the local annexe administrative, with the file passing to the Direction Générale de la Sûreté Nationale. Moroccans living abroad apply through a Moroccan consulate instead.

Either route asks for photos meeting the same 35x45mm specification. The diaspora route is where getting the size right yourself matters most, though European booths produce 35x45mm by default so the size is rarely the problem.

Morocco uses the standard 35x45mm photo with the head at 32-36mm from chin to crown, about 70-80% of the frame height.

This is the same geometry as the Moroccan visa photo, so a compliant crop covers both — check the file-size window separately, since the visa route specifies 200-500KB.

Use a plain light background with no patterns or texture. Stand about a metre from the wall so your body does not cast a shadow onto it.

Light your face evenly from the front rather than from overhead, which drops shadows into the eye sockets.

Keep a neutral expression with your mouth closed and both eyes open and clearly visible, looking straight at the camera.

Head coverings worn for religious reasons are accepted as long as your full face from the chin to the top of the forehead stays visible and unshadowed.
