The Egypt e-visa photo measures 40mm by 60mm — 4x6cm. It is the same frame Vietnam, Indonesia, Oman and Bahrain use, and taller than the 35x45mm photo standard across Europe.

At 600 DPI that works out to roughly 945x1417 pixels. Start from the highest-resolution original you have rather than enlarging a small file to reach that.

How Big Should the Head Be?

70-80% of the frame — sources disagree, so here is the reasoning.

Most published guidance says the face should occupy 70-80% of the image, which on a 60mm frame means roughly 42-48mm from chin to crown. That is what this tool targets.

One widely-copied source instead gives an oddly precise '38 to 39.9mm', which would be only 63-66% of the frame and contradicts the percentage figure it sits alongside. If your application portal publishes a specific number, follow that one.

Background & Colour

Plain white, full colour, natural skin tone.

The background must be plain white and free of shadows, textures, patterns and anything else in frame. Stand about a metre from the wall so your body does not cast a shadow onto it.

Photos must be in full colour and show your natural skin tone. Black-and-white images and anything run through a beauty filter are not accepted.
