Where Sources Disagree

Almost everyone says 35x45mm; one says 51x51mm.

The overwhelming majority of published guidance gives 35x45mm for a Nepali visa photo, and that is what this page targets. One widely mirrored site lists 2x2 inch (51x51mm) instead, which is the American format and does not match anything else.

If you are applying through a specific Nepali embassy rather than on arrival, it costs nothing to check their page for the size before you print.

Use a plain background — white or very light grey — with even lighting, no patterns, no textures and no shadow behind your head.
