Make Saudi Arabia eVisa Photo

Unlike many countries that issue a printable 35x45mm or 2x2 inch photo, Saudi Arabia's eVisa system (visitsaudi.com) only accepts a small, fixed 200 x 200 pixel square image, uploaded directly to the online application.

Because the canvas is so small, your face needs to fill 70-80% of it, measured from the bottom of your chin to the top of your head. A photo that works for a US or Schengen visa will almost always be cropped too loosely for Saudi Arabia's system.

Your face should also be centered and facing forward, with no tilt to either side.

Sunglasses are never allowed, no exceptions. Prescription glasses are permitted, but the frame should be thin enough not to obscure your eyes, and you'll need to avoid any glare from flash or overhead lights.

Religious headwear such as a hijab or ghutra is explicitly permitted. The requirement is that your full face — from the bottom of your chin to your hairline, and both edges of your face — stays clearly visible, and that the headwear doesn't cast a shadow across your face.

The uploaded file must be between 5 KB and 100 KB — both a floor and a ceiling. Most visa photo tools only worry about a maximum size, but going too far under 5KB (from heavy compression) can also cause a rejection on Saudi Arabia's system.

Accepted formats are JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, or BMP, though JPG is the safest default and what most applicants use.

Your photo must have been taken within the last 6 months. Digital alterations or heavy filters aren't allowed — the system expects a natural, unedited likeness.

Take the photo with even, shadow-free lighting against a plain white wall or backdrop for the best result.
