De aanvrager moet recht in de lens kijken zonder het hoofd te kantelen of te draaien. De gezichtsuitdrukking moet volledig neutraal zijn; glimlachen of de mond openen is ten strengste verboden omdat dit de biometrische herkenning verstoort.

De ogen moeten volledig open en duidelijk zichtbaar zijn. Zorg ervoor dat haar de ogen of wenkbrauwen niet bedekt. Beide oren en wangen moeten gelijkmatig zichtbaar zijn voor een correcte identificatie.

Kleding en accessoires

Zet uw bril af om risico's te vermijden.

Hoewel een bril op sterkte is toegestaan als de ogen volledig zichtbaar zijn, wordt sterk aangeraden deze af te zetten. Zelfs de kleinste reflectie van de flits of een montuur dat een deel van het oog bedekt, kan leiden tot afwijzing. Zonnebrillen of getinte glazen zijn verboden.

Draag geen uniformen, tenzij het religieuze kleding betreft die dagelijks wordt gedragen. Hoofddeksels zijn alleen toegestaan om religieuze redenen, maar het gezicht moet van de kin tot de bovenkant van het voorhoofd volledig zichtbaar zijn zonder schaduwen.

Verlichting en achtergrond

Effen achtergrond zonder schaduwen.

De achtergrond moet effen en licht van kleur zijn, bij voorkeur lichtgrijs. Er mogen geen patronen of schaduwen te zien zijn. De verlichting moet gelijkmatig over het gezicht vallen om schaduwen in de oogkassen of achter het hoofd te voorkomen.

De foto moet scherp zijn en een hoge resolutie hebben. Huidskleuren moeten natuurlijk ogen en 'rode ogen' moeten worden vermeden. Digitale bewerkingen die gelaatstrekken veranderen zijn niet toegestaan.
